Great RINO Moments in History

Democrats in Congress have been clear about their intent to “reshape” America. Republicans – while surprisingly strong throughout the health care debate – are still not quite getting it. In order for the GOP to gain any ground this year, they’re going to have to figure out how to work with the grassroots instead of treating us like wayward children who have been off having a tantrum. Serving tea at an RNC pizza party does not a Tea Party make, Michael Steele, and if you want the Tea Party movement to “come home” you’re going to have to first acknowledge that it would not exist if Republicans had done their job in the first place.

I think the trend of bloggers, podcasters and other citizen reporters breaking stories a la Andrew Breitbart will continue to fill the void left by the failing media establishment. There is news out there – news that doesn’t necessarily serve the utopian agenda being forced down our throats – and the internet has provided the average person with a platform to get the more, shall I say, inconvenient stories out there. No one can deny that the work done by Glenn Beck, Hannah Giles and James O’Keefe, Andrew Breitbart and Lila Rose have been game changing. We are now in a time where a housewife with a Facebook page can post about “death panels” and turn the whole conversation on it’s head. The power of social media and an informed citizen can’t be ignored by the establishment much longer.  Tabitha Hale

Ditto that for the EPA's threatened global warming abuse, wasteful green energy subsidies, Barack Obama's one third increase in federal welfare spending, and other runaway spending, deficits, and debt. With the constant threat of a recall election, democratic accountability would be maintained throughout each term, and the New Authoritarianism would be short-circuited. Truly, there are many liberals who will never be forgiven for what they have done to the divine gift of language, for to abuse language is a kind of slow-motion genocide -- to say nothing of deicide; when you abuse words, you abuse the Word.

A common complaint of Hoh River Boy is that conversation isn't what it was 40 years ago, when we were yutes.  We were raised by the last generation that was fully formed BT (before television) and they were, over all, a far more gracious kind of human than the crude variety so common now.  When relatively more time is spent cultivating social grace, as opposed to cheering and farting in front of the tv, you end up with a better breed of little gods.  Two Washington Rebel links that attempt to address that are:

What a shame my country has become: crude, ignorant, and really, pretty goddamn boring.  People who don't cultivate character aren't worth talking to, in our humble opinion, and there really aren't that many of us walking around -- folks who read and cultivate social intelligence, as opposed to shouting out what we own and how wonderful and important we are, or thrusting our virtual boobs in the other boob's face.  People tell me, oh, there are plenty of good people in America!

I suppose you're right, but darn it, it just doesn't feel that way to me!
